Malkangiri district was started functioning from 02.10.1992 after bifurcation from erstwhile Koraput District as per Notification No. 49137/R dated. 01.10.1992 of Revenue and Excise Department, Bhubaneswar. It was a challenge for the district administration to set out new hopes to the inhabitants of newly created Malkangiri district of basic facilities like, Basic Health, Education, Road, Water supply and the main objective was of upliftment of the poor ST/SC people and to take them into mainstream. In this regard Education to the tribal was one of the main initiative and goal. It is a well known fact that the long term goal of achieving the development program runs through Education. The obstruction in the path was poor education environment, insufficient teaching staff, drop out, Interested students but lack of infrastructure facilities are the hazards.
